Top Five Psychic Predictions for 2010
1. Following their 2009 engagement, Michelle Paulhus (Marvels) and Jim Janota (Upper Crust) wed in early 2010. By late December, they are the proud parents of a new three-piece rock band. Questions of paternity arise as no one expected a doo wop act out of these two.
2. Enraged from lack of attention given his own engagement, Skinny Mike Feudale (Coffin Lids) retires from rock ’n’ roll in favor of a career in mixed martial arts. Taking out his aggression on Brock Lesnar, Mike headlines UFC’s most successful card of 2010... but is screwed out of a big payday by the shady promoter. Coffin Lids reunite by Thanksgiving.
3. Routine oral surgery goes awry, causing Evan Shore (Muck & Mires) to develop thermo-atomic vocal chords. Insanity followed by a destructive rampage (east coast in ruins) necessitates imprisonment in a scientific research installation. His fate remains undecided by year’s end, but Muck CDs command collectors’ prices on Ebay.
4. The Cinderella story of the year finds Jim Seery (Triple Thick) working his new job as sous chef on TV’s Iron Chef. When one week’s challenger dies of a freak coronary incident, Jim goes it alone, beating Chef Morimoto in a 59-57 upset victory. The secret ingredient is matzo.
5. Andrea Gillis’ vacation cruise off Bermuda is lost at sea. Unemployed Frank Strom negotiates to ghost write an Andrea tell-all memoir for Pat Gillis (mom). Overzealous Strom fictionalizes Andrea’s history with Bigfoot and the Killer Bees (they were just good friends) and Pat files a lawsuit. Following rescue, Andrea sues as well. Homeless and completely bankrupt, Strom still doesn’t qualify for food stamps.

Top Ten Reasons To Go To A Rock Club

6. Reading absurd graffiti while taking a piss.
7. Hearing a great band for the first time and not realizing that years later people will envy you.
8. Beer.
9. A strange girl/guy/ Airedale dog bumps into you and says, “sorry” and silently you say “thanks.”
10. ’Cause life ain’t a fuck’n video game, dude_and real music is live and breathing, it doesn’t come from some plastic circular device.
