 1 Ben Blancahrd- Barely Fly
Written by Laura, on 14-04-2007 14:08
I don't know Ben's CD, but I do know "Blue Yonder" very well from The Circus of the Shattered Monkey CD. I love that song!

Ben's voice is incredible and how the song builds takes me away every time.

If "Blue Yonder" is on Ben's CD, I don't see how anyone knock it.

Joe Coughlin, not only do I think your Ben Blanchard review was the end result of an arrogant XXXXX skipping from track to track and not paying a single bit of attention, but your other reviews suck too.

You seem to always say that you're not the guy to be listening to this and what not. If that's the case, then pass the disc on someone else and stick to what your narrowminded ass can enjoy.

Joe Coughlin your review of Ben's CD makes me 100% sick that someone like you is allowed to call himself a music critic!

You're telling me that you don't find tracks like "Blue Yonder" "Barely Fly" and "Perfect V" to be redeeming?

What the hell?

I bet you think that Nick Drake's Pink Moon and Jeff Buckley's Grace are bad albums too and see Greenday's Dookie as the greatest album ever made.

5 The Mystery Tramps - Cure for the Common
Written by Marc, on 30-03-2007 15:02
So many of us have been playing one album over and over driving our parents completely off their geritol. That album is Cure for the Common Misconception. Actually, my friends and I think this group really rocks, and the only thing better than their new CD is seeing them live. (I've been able to see them about 5 times.) See you guys at the Paradise Lounge!
6 Ben Blanchard | Barely Fly

Although the first track definitely has more of a found sound hip hop approach to its percussion ... I think Barely Fly includes alot of fantastic tracks that have a folk alt feel throughout. I particularly like 'In the Puddle' ... a little gem midstream there ;]. Overall I get alot of self-introspection ... poetic sound searching and discovery.
